Summary: Under general supervision implements the MOST program, ensuring a safe, creative, developmentally appropriate environment.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Assists in the supervision of Instructional Assistants, participate in the evaluation process, and resolve staff conflicts. Keep Program Manager informed with on-going communication.
  • Develops and utilizes developmentally appropriate materials which stimulate learning, exploration and creativity in children.
  • Participates in the development and planning of children’s daily activities. Monitors children’s activities to insure safety at all times, transitions children to and from the program.   Maintains accurate attendance records at all times.
  • Participates in the development of the annual budget, purchasing of equipment and supplies, collecting and depositing of fees, and meets with parents to explain the billing process.
  • Maintains program files, student records and other confidential information. Dispenses prescribed medication to children upon the coordination with the school nurse and/or health technician.
  • Creates and maintains an environment which promotes cooperation, learning and enjoyment for children. Assists Program Manager to ensure center complies with all AZ DHS and Department of Education regulations.
  • Participates with Program Manager in defining, establishing and maintaining standards of acceptable behavior using positive methods which support children’s self-esteem.
  • Participates in promoting and maintaining parent-school relationships. Communicates with parents about basic program information and incidents involving their child. Fosters relationships with the Principals, Office Managers, teachers, and cafeteria staff with regard to the MOST program.
  • Represents the program at meetings and conferences. Attends professional development training and staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Recreation, or closely related field and two years experience working in a child care setting;
  • or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Recreation, or closely related field and three years experience working in a child care setting
  • or Child Development Associate credential plus 24 hours Academic Course Work and three years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.  
  • Must receive CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers Certification within thirty days of hire date.
  • MUST MEET DHS QUALIFICATION FOR LICENSING MANAGER.
