Summary:  

To support the District’s federal and state equitable services requirements for private schools in Title I, Title II-A, and Title IV-A. In addition, this position will assist the District’s federal grants team including program support, compliance oversight, and technical assistance to WESD schools, leaders and stakeholders. 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to the WESD Federal Programs Department including planning, project management, and grant support.
  • Provide school support and technical assistance for completion of planning and compliance requirements such as CNAs, SIAPs, and LIAP. Manage submissions and revisions of these tools in the ADE Grants Management System.
  • Assist with the Time and Effort Reporting process for the Federal Programs Department.
  • Assist with grant compliance requirements and audits including reporting, documentation and tracking.
  • Coordinate the Private School Consultation process including annual notification and eligibility procedures as well as on-going consultation requirements.
  • Provides technical assistance and grant support to over 35 private schools participating in Title I, II, IV.
  • Coordinate the required Title I instructional services for students at 14-20 private schools across the county in collaboration with 3rd party vendors.
  • Oversee the scheduling and logistics of student services for private schools including school day pullout intervention, after-school, tutoring, and summer school.
  • Review student eligibility and instructional needs to determine services for private schools.
  • Monitors funding sources and amounts available and authorizes expenditures and invoices consistent with service goals, student eligibility/participation and grant allocations for private schools.
  • Conduct required regular on-site monitoring of services, schedules and protocols for private schools including ADE participation in site visits.
  • Coordinate required family engagement and professional development opportunities for Title I participating private schools, students and families. Track participation and outcomes for private schools.
  • Manage daily communication and required monthly meetings with private school partners.
  • Complete required program evaluation of intervention services for each participating private school.
  • Coordinate the required annual ADE monitoring of Equitable Services including program and fiscal review.
  • Provide required support to the participating in-district private schools to plan and develop Title II and Title IV grant applications, budgets, and revisions in coordination with Federal Programs team.
  • Monitor, inspect, and track inventory of non-consumable supplies purchased through WESD grants and provided to private schools.
  • Coordinate required services for private school students under Title IV-B (21st Century Community Learning Center grants) in collaboration with Academic Support Programs Department.
  • Coordinate the annual Carryover Request process for private school services including required attempts to determine requests from schools, documentation of funds available, evidence of services/attempts provided, documentation of LEA’s support and communication, and submission of Carryover Request packets.
  • In coordination with Federal Programs Director, respond to ADE regarding any official complaints from private schools including documentation of services and evidence of support.

 

Knowledge & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education with current Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years teachers experience in public school setting (multi grade level experience a plus)
  • Student data analysis and intervention design
  • Being a self-starter, flexible and highly organized
  • Knowledge of federal grants/compliance preferable
  • Using current technology programs to include Microsoft, SharePoint, Google, Excel
  • General accounting and mathematic functions
  • Designing effective systems and protocols
  • Performing data analysis and program evaluation
  • Utilizing collaborative problem solving strategies
  • Having strong public relations and community communication skills
  • Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc. to exchange information

 

Skills required, but not limited to, for this position include:
