Salary:                                  Teacher starting salary is $42,200.  Actual placement will depend on education level and previous teacher experience.

 

Creation/Revision Date:               April 1, 2021 (effective 2021-2022 School Year)

 

 

 

Summary:

 

Under general direction, incumbent(s) provides quality instruction through planned instruction, diagnosing learning needs, creating and leading engaging learning activities, utilizing assessments to monitor student progress, and communicating with administration and parents in the online setting.

 

The Distance Learning Teachers will be required to work on-site at an assigned school.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications.  Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field;
  • Ability to obtain Google Level 1 certification prior to August 3, 2021;
  • Valid Arizona Department of Education teacher certification (applicable to 5th-8th grade);
  • Valid fingerprint clearance (IVP) card.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

 

  • Master’s degree in Education or related field;
  • Possession of Google Level 1 certification;
  • Possession of Google Level 2 certification.

  • Technical troubleshooting skills related to basic connectivity, Google Workspace, and Google Chrome
  • Effective navigation of an online setting to support individual, small group, and whole class teaching and learning
  • Excellent digital communication skills using email, video/voice conferencing, and best practices for delivery of online content
  • Knowledge of data privacy best practices, COPPA, and FERPA
  • Knowledge of how to support student SEL skill development remotely
  • Knowledge and experience engaging students with multiple modalities that support various learning styles
  • Knowledge of digital citizenship for staff and students
  • Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
  • Familiarity with online course development that highlights the use of the following best practices:
    • Course Overview and Introduction
    • Learning Objectives
    • Assessment and Measurement
    • Instructional Materials
    • Learning Activities and Learner Interaction
    • Course Technology
    • Learner and Instructor Support
  • Experience teaching digital citizenship
  • Knowledge of safe search practices
