Summary:
Under general direction, incumbent manages the budget for the District’s federal grants and programs. Incumbent develops and manages complex and comprehensive databases, statements, and reports. Incumbent provides forcasting, trend and results-based analysis. In addition, this position will provide technical assistance and grant support to a variety of stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
- Manages federal grants and other funding sources to include Title I, II, III, IV, and VI.
- Collaborates with various stakeholders and completes AZ Department of Education Grants Management submissions.
- Reviews and tracks expenditures and other budget-related activities.
- Completes budget journal entries, uploads, and transfers.
- Processes and tracks all purchase orders and invoices.
- Utilizes complex electronic financial information from district systems and databases.
- Reviews and ensures data and other pertinent information is accurate.
- Assists in planning and budget forecasting.
- Assists with grant program compliance requirements and audits including reporting, documenting and tracking of budget and other related information.
- Provides technical assistance and grant support to administration and other staff with stipends, purchasing, budget management, grant expenditures, and other procedures.
- Assists with developing, documenting, and revising procedures and forms.
- Collaborates with a variety of District departments including Payroll, Purchasing, Human Resources and Finance.
- Manages daily tasks and communication for private school partners.
- Monitors and tracks all inventory.
- Assists in coordinating the Private School Consultation process.
- Assists with the District Time and Effort Reporting process.
- Analyzes employee data to facilitate the generation of certification documents.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for questions and troubleshooting with staff.
- Collects all Time and Effort forms and organize submissions for grant manager review.
- Coordinates with the internal auditor to ensure compliance with federal and district guidelines.
- Creates and submits personnel action request form (PARs) for stipends and staffing purposes.
- Monitors staff salary, stipends and other compensation from grants.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. In addition, verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
- High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) prior to being hired;
- Two years of finance, accounting, or related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field;
- Two years of supervisory experience;
- Two years of grant writing or grant management experience.
