Summary:  Under general direction, incumbent(s) supports teachers in the implementation of the regular and supplemental curricular, instructional, and assessment programs.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Coaches and mentors individual teachers who request or require assistance with instructional strategies, classroom management, lesson design, accomplishing the objectives established in the school improvement plan or a teacher’s individual growth plan, and/or with implementing regular and supplemental curricular, instructional, and assessment programs.
  • Monitors and analyzes all instructional assessment data, assists teachers with utilizing disaggregated student achievement data to plan and deliver instruction, and provides large- and small-group and individual training (or professional development) to help teachers make data-driven instructional decisions. Ensures that targeted students (ELL and remedial) are making adequate academic progress.
  • Coordinates the implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs in the classroom and monitors instructional delivery to targeted students (i.e. remedial and ELL students funded by Title I and III.)
  • Actively participates in professional development activities that are provided by the District and/or by professional development organizations.
  • Prepares and presents professional development activities and events that support school programs, including District curricula, instruction, assessments, the school improvement process, and related professional development plans.  Evaluates professional development experiences and reviews the evaluations with the Principal to develop future plans that align with the standards set forth by the National Staff Development Council and the regulations established by Titles I, II, and III. 
  • Coordinates procedures and timelines for distribution and administration of district and state assessments.
  • Coordinates materials adoption procedures at the school, including providing opportunities for teachers to view and analyze adoption materials prior to selecting instructional materials that align with the curricula.  Monitors the distribution and use of instructional materials.
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications.  Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education;
  • Three years of teaching experience;
  • Valid Arizona Department of Education Teacher Certificate.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

 

  • One year of program specialist experience;
  • One year of curriculum instruction and assessment program experience.
