Summary:

Under general direction, incumbent(s) develops and maintains student data reconciliation processes to include 40th and 100th day ADM and attendance, special education, tuition-out schools, homebound, Head Start and other student-related data. Incumbent(s) queries data from the student management system, interprets the findings, and provides conclusions and recommendations.  Incumbent(s) provides technical assistance on retrieval of student data using a variety of computer programs.  In addition, incumbent keeps up-to-date on current and new business rules associated with student data, state reporting and registration processes.  Incumbent(s) provides assistance to the Student Data Manager with the research and implementation of new processes, systems and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes various student data (e.g. enrollment information,      ADM, attendance, special education data, etc.).Generates, analyzes, and submits reports and related data to District administration and the Arizona Department of Education (ADE).  Communicates with District departments and school office staff to make necessary data corrections and/or to provide queried data and other related-information. Uses validation and error reports from Synergy and ADE to maintain student data integrity.
  • Handles registration of students such as verifying legal documentation, assisting parents and/or guardians with completing required documents, verifying school attendance boundaries, scanning and electronically attaching documents to student record in Synergy. Provides appropriate information to families about receiving schools and District services.
  • Serves as resource and provides technical assistance to centralized registration staff and school office staff on Synergy and registration processes. Creates training documents and provides training to District personnel.
  • Troubleshoots Synergy issues and reports findings and documentation to Student Data Manager. Audits student database information for the purpose of student data accuracy and validation of student enrollment for funding purposes.
  • Develops and maintains processes for collecting and analyzing student enrollment and absence data for the purpose of reconciling 40th day, 100th day, and other ADM and attendance data. Collaborates with Student Data Manager to ensure compliance and to maximize student funding.
  • Creates and manages student registration forms and materials for the purpose of ensuring the effective collection of pertinent data.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.

  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) prior to being hired;
  • Five years’ experience working with Microsoft applications (ex: Word, Excel, Access)
  • Three years’ experience working with major student data management system
  • Experience with ADE website, Common Logon areas and ADE support.
  • Experience and knowledge with Arizona Department of Education Student Data Reporting and business rules.
  • Valid Arizona Department of Transportation Driver’s License.

It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

  • Experience with Synergy SIS and Synergy SE
