Summary: Under general direction, incumbent(s) creates, maintains, and facilitates leadership, supervisory, administrative, and managerial proficiencies to meet the needs, mission, goals, and objectives of the school and its stakeholders.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide strong instructional leadership for implementation of Arizona academic standards addressed in the District’s curriculum.
  • Develop, organize and plan for an educational program and school climate which provides the greatest learning opportunities for all students.
  • Involve and lead staff in interpreting data to improve instruction and achievement.
  • Provide leadership to the implementation of a system for monitoring student performance, identifying student needs, and communicating students’ educational development.
  • Coordinate registration process and master schedule for academics.
  • Maintains current knowledge on best practices and trends for online learning.
  • Provide appropriate supervision and constructive evaluation to promote staff growth and increase effectiveness.
  • Communicates information regarding co-curricular activities at home schools; and connects students to the appropriate person for his/her home school.
  • Supervise and evaluate classified and certificated staff members in accordance with district procedures.
  • Provide leadership in the selection, development and orientation of staff.
  • Demonstrate fiscal accountability for all funds allotted or collected by the school.
  • Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary.
  • Maintain favorable working relationships with the schools’ clientele; students, parents, and other members of the community.
  • Supervise the maintenance of accurate records.
  • Safeguard health and well-being of pupils and staff.
  • Implement Board policies and administrative rules and regulations relating to the school and virtual learning.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications.  Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.

  • Three years of verified teaching experience in grades Prekindergarten-12;
  • Completion of a program in educational administration for principals; or verified current enrollment in a principal prep program.
  • A valid Fingerprint Clearance Card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
  • A valid Arizona Department of Education Principal Certification or evidence of eligibility to receive Arizona Principal Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

  • A practicum as a principal or 2 years of verified experience as a principal or assistant principal in grades Prekindergarten-12.
  • Experience in online education.
