Summary: Under general direction, incumbent(s) handles the data entry, processing, reporting positive COVID cases to Maricopa County, contact-tracing assistance, communication with parents and staff, and other COVID-related processing. In addition, incumbent(s) will assist with general office-related tasks such as filing, organizing supplies, and mailings. 

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Performs data entry and daily reporting of positive student-related COVID cases to Maricopa County in a timely manner.
  • Assists with contact tracing when a positive case is reported. Contact tracing can include emails, phone calls, and letters to parents, WESD staff, and administrators.
  • Completes paperwork related to positive student-related COVID cases including communication with administrators, Maintenance, and Human Resources.
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Human Resources Department if a staff member is involved or considered a close contact in a student-related COVID case.
  • Communicate with District and school staff, parents, students, and other stakeholders in response to COVID-related inquiries.
  • Performs clerical duties in the school office such as scheduling orientations and meetings, taking messages and/or directing inquiries to appropriate staff, opening and sorting mail, and filing records.
  • Composes and distributes letters regarding notification of student’s quarantine timeline.
  • Monitors attendance and return dates of students on leave due to quarantine and testing positive for COVID.
  • Learns, researches, and understands all aspects of COVID-19 including but not limited to: Maricopa County and CDC guidelines along with any updates or changes that incur, quarantine and isolation guidelines, vaccination guidance, symptoms, and signs of COVID.
  • Attends weekly meetings pertaining to COVID-related updates from Maricopa County and records notes to be shared with Supervisory Nurses and Human Resources.
  • Remain confidential in all cases and situations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

It is preferred that the applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) prior to being hired;
  • Two years of school office experience;
  • Extensive knowledge regarding COVID-19;
  • Experience in communicating sensitive and confidential information;
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
